The best way to have contact with a writer is to read a book by the writer. That's the part the writer wants to give to you.
The writer does not want to hear that the book did not work for you. Or the better ending you thought up for it. Or which characters really should be getting it on between the pages.
The writer wants to be left alone to write another book for you to read.
Other writers will say differently. But you know they are as big a liar as I am.
